As Edson Cordeiro is a familiar name in Brazil, I speak some lines about him to foreign habitués of this blog as we have many music lovers worldwide who join us.
Edson is perhaps the most popular countertenor we have because he is an ecletical pop singer that sings success from many music genres, like classical music, jazz, Brazilian Popular Music from early 20th Century and Spanish music.
The CD posted here, released in 1991, is Edson’s first one – and is the best of all. It revealed all his versatility: from Janis Joplin to Bizet, including a so genial mix of Mozart’s Queen of the night aria with Rolling Stones’ Satisfaction, sung with the Brazilian died rock singer Cássia Eller. In that moment, he was a sopranist; only some years later he trained the countertenor register and recorded another CD specifically to show his “new” voice.
The lyrics of some musics in this CD are here, beside some others.
