“Muitas das cantatas escritas por Bach antes de ele se tornar Thomaskantor em Leipzig agora estão perdidas. À Igreja de Nossa Senhora de Thomaskirche cabe apenas em 3 conjuntos de 3 CDs cada. Este volume é o segundo conjunto de cantatas pré-Leipzig e, portanto, contém duas das três cantatas seculares existentes desse mesmo período. Estes são ‘Amore traditore’ e o que resta de uma cantata humorística, agora chamada’ Quodlibet ‘. Alguns estudiosos são da opinião de que a autoria de Bach de ‘Amore Traditore’ é questionável, mas quem mais poderia ter escrito essa cantata de três movimentos incrivelmente bela e cativante para o texto em italiano?”
