Valentin Silvestrov (1937): Silent Songs (2004)

Um piano e um barítono que canta “silenciosamente”. É isso, apenas isso, mas é muito. Silent Songs é um ciclo de 24 canções escritas entre 1974 e 77. São duas horas lentas, de texturas semelhantes e de  dinâmica baixa. A música parece romântica.  O acompanhamento de piano é feito de delicados arpejos. Os poemas são todos de grandes autores. São canções tristes de amores perdidos, nostalgia e exílio. As melodias trabalham o cerne de cada poema. Eu recomendo, mas não para todos… Silvestrov é também um poeta. Dos grandes.
