Um CD que contém algumas das maiores melodias que já ouvi. Purcell era um genial melodista e, neste álbum duplo de Nancy Argenta para a Virgin, todo o seu talento exposto da forma mais clara possível. Se o primeiro CD já é maravilhoso, o segundo é aquele que possui as maiores obras-primas de Purcell no gênero canção. Retir’d from any mortal’s sight, Halcyon days, Music for a While e To arms, heroic prince, além de outras que seria enfadonho de citar moram no ventrículo esquerdo do coração deste ouvinte. Trata-se de uma das melhores antologias de Purcell que já ouvi e, para que fiquemos ainda mais felizes, há 74 minutos no CD 1 e 77 no 2.

  1. Não conhecia o compositor, o cd é realmente de uma delicadeza exuberante, incrível pensar que esta música algum dia existiu, se pensarmos em tantas coisas que se chama de arte nestes nossos dias, coisas toscas, imundas e grosseiras!

  2. li tudo, uma maravilha, quero ouvir. Porém lá vem o chato dizer: LINKS OFF!!!!!

    temos que pensar numa outra maneira de fugirmos dessa bola de neve que é e será, os links expirados. Música clássica cada vez mais está se tornando exceção a cada dia que passa, ou seja, logicamente a maioria das coisas expirará dentro do prazo do rapidshare q é apenas 30 dias sem downloads. Portanto colegas assiduos do pqp bach juntamente com o senhor pqp bach, o q podemos fazer para nos ajudar-mos? balanceando links duradouros e a alegria de todos X(versus) q o senhor não perca tempo revalidando links expirados e tendo q ler pedidos desesperados de bons ouvintes. se o senhor quiser abrir essa questão na própria página para discussão, senão pelo menos eu tentei ajudar. Vida longa a página!!! hehe

  3. Os links ainda estão fora, por favor repostem (existe esse termo?).
    Conheci Purcel por acaso, quando me deparei com a abertura da sua ópera, ou semi-ópera, sei lá, Rei Arthur. É comovente essa abertura, desde então comecei a pesquisar e ele se tornou um dos meus compositores favoritos. Há no youtube um documentário da BBC sobre o nascimento da música inglesa e o primeiro episódio é precisamente sobre Purcell. Maravilhoso! (bom, é da BBC, falar em maravilhoso é redundância, em relação a documentários o termo ‘BBC’ devia ser adjetivo).

  6. Agradeço a dica sobre este trabalho de Nancy Argenta, porque é magnífico. Ao invés de reclamar porque os links estão quebrados, penso que uma forma de colaborar com este site e com os internautas seja fazer o download em outro lugar e postar o novo link aqui. É o que faço agora:

  8. Fui na cola do Carlos aí de cima. Se ele consegue, eu hei de conseguir. Mas… mais uma vez a maldição de Purcell paira por sobre essas pradarias e padarias, e a mesma mensagem de impotência do Google surge no meu monitor. Tenho que me contentar com os cantos nada eruditos da minha vizinha da esquerda, especialista em forrós, funks cariocas e valescas popozudas. Tenho que me benzer.

    Eu sei que vocês odeiam ópera e, sobretudo, Wagner! Mas não seria possível revalidar os links d’O Anel dos Nibelungos, gravado por Karajan e postado há 800 anos? Meu HD foi destruído e não consigo achar essa maravilha em nenhum lugar da internet.

    Agradeço desde já, mesmo que meu pedido não seja aceito.
