Henry Purcell (1659-1695) – Songs and Dialogues

Maravilhoso CD da Hyperion com Emma Kirkby, David Thomas e Anthony Rooley. É um CD para interromper os estudos de FDP Bach para o concurso que ocorrerá daqui um mês. Não sei vocês sabem que FDP ama Kirkby e sua voz de anjo. Anjo? Anjo coisa nenhuma! Aqui ela canta amorosamente com Thomas e faz perguntas como “What can poor females do?”. Ora, Emma.

Como diz o comentarista da Grammophone, é um disco inocentemente sexy na sua forma mais charmosa (e completa, FDP: Kirkby can never sounded more celestial…). Acho lindas essas canções do grande Purcell, mas elas ficam só fazem sentido com as letras. Aí é que fica clara a genialidade do compositor inglês. Então, ou procurem-nas na rede ou adquiram o CD. Vale a pena.

A gravação é de 1982. Ela cantava ainda melhor do que em 2007, quando a vi em Buenos Aires? Acho que sim.
